DitchFest 2009 Logo

CLIENT
DitchFest

PROJECT
Inspired by the much-loved Pop Art piece "Heliotherapy Love" by Robert Indiana, this was the last chance for us to use a zero creatively for a few years. I thought of rotating the 0 slightly and then remembered "...Love", I looked it up and arrived qiite quickly at this version.

This was printed in one colour onto t-shirts and aprons and is available on a mug and 3 colour t-shirts from the DitchFest cafe press website.

Expressive Arts
reminiscence party

CLIENT
The Hoo-Hah Party Sound System

PROJECT
Inspired by the Season's Greetings card below, we brainstormed a series of phrases and words that would be pertinent to graduates of the Expressive Arts degree at Brighton Polytechnic (Falmer and Grand Parade) from the mid 1980s to create this word shape.

Using Wordle as a starting point, this illustration is the basis of the party invitation and used as the header on a membership-only party website. The text is small in print, but the PDF invite circumvents this issue.

Branding and screenprints

CLIENT
Personal Project

PROJECT
In 2008 we adapted the DF logo to a curved look. The musical notation in the illustration is "Summertime". We designed and produced invitations, signage and the performers' booking system.

We hand-screenprinted the logo onto aprons for the kitchen and bar helpers (shown here drying) and in a variety of colourways onto t-shirts. Profits from the sale of these go towards the cost of organising the day.

Branding and print

CLIENT
Personal Project

PROJECT
DitchFest is the Ditchling DIY Back-Porch Music Festival. I am one of the four founders of this private music festival/party and have created a logo that changes each year with the date. This will last us until 2099, after which we'll have to think again.

In 2007 I extended the logo design into an illustration that is now available online on hand-printed t-shirts and mugs

Lodge Hill
Screenprint

CLIENT
Personal Project

PROJECT
Following on from All Of My Heart, I wanted to take the use of colour further. Based on a photograph of my daughters when they were young, this was scanned and reduced to colour areas using Freehand, which were printed onto acetate and exposed onto a sensitised screen.

It ended up as a nine colour print to add depth. Edition of 12.
